Weekend Discussion: AFI Acoustic or Orchestra?

Here's the second installment in our new weekly discussion series. Click here to see last week's discussion.

Many of us have seen AFI play live at one time or another, but I'm guessing most of you haven't seen AFI play live acoustically... or backed by an orchestra. Would you rather see them acoustic or orchestral? Which songs do you feel would be good to hear in those formats?

I know this is something I've never thought about, so this discussion should be interesting. Also, you can vote in the new poll on the left.

  3. I actually haven't seen AFI, and probably won't for a few more years...Anyways, yeah, as drewface & Daniel said, Morningstar and The Interview would sound amazing with an orchestra. What about This Time Imperfect? I think that would sound great.

  4. Agree with MiniMissMurder on This Time Imperfect but also Silver and Cold would Sound Amazingly Epic with Orchestra backing them up =]

  5. I dunno if an orchestra would soud very good... The only band I think I've ever heard with an orchestra was Within Temptation on that CD my uncle gave me for christmas last year...*shudder*.... That was scary..... So I'm going to go with an acoustic album, mostly because I'm afraid of a crappy orchestra....It would ruin the songs.I will say that if it was a good orchestra with good arrangements it'd be truly epic to hear. But acoustics are amazing and nice to fall asleep to.Hmmm....Enough of this. I'll stick with acoustic.

  6. If done correctly, orchestration will always enhance any performance... it just makes everything about fifty times more epic. Plus, because of how much work it is to orchestrate and score music created to be played by four people for upwards of sixty people, it is way rarer to see orcestrated concerts... and when you do, it's really a treat. Orchestra is a big deal, and if they could pull it off, it would be spectacular... besides, they've played acousticly before, so it wouldn't really be anything new.

  7. I've already heard them Acoustically, so I would choose Orchestra.
