CONFIRMED: Gallows Leaving AFI Tour

According to sharkbait on the OMB, Gallows has dropped off the AFI Crash Love Tour. There are five more dates on the tour for which Gallows is supporting AFI. The message board post read:
"I'm sad to say that when I saw Gallows healine in DC tonight, Frank said they've taken a beating on this tour an will be flying home tomorrow. So DC was their last show and NY was their last show with AFI."
Updates:

10:48 p.m. - According to Gallows guitarist Laurent Barnard's Twitter page, he has been feeling very sick on the tour lately. Recent tweets include "I'm not feeling too hot today" and "NYC tonight and my body is in a complete state of disrepair" and "Show was fun. I feel like slowly dying right now tho" and "It feels like my brain is trying to escape through my eyes." Apparently, lead singer Frank Carter also threw up after the New York City show.

11:56 p.m. - Aaine on the OMB said she talked to Lee, the drummer, who said they were flying home. She also mentioned Frank laying on the stage, half passed out.

11:00 a.m. - Dave Hause will be opening for AFI on their next two tour dates in Myrtle Beach, SC and Atlanta, GA instead of Gallows. Click here for more information.

  1. It sucks that they're ill. But if they leave the tour, my only problem is that they didn't leave before I had to sit through them and their sexist and discriminatory nonsense and their ragging on AFI fans for no reason. There are other bands out there who would have appreciated the spot more, from what I've seen. Ah well.

  3. Carrie, seriously? If your opinion was really "Ah well" you wouldn't have posted an entirely unnecessary incendiary comment that was only bound to upset people. You're allowed to have your opinions (even if they suck), but please take them elsewhere.

  4. It sucks that they're sick. But they weren't the best supporting band anyways. AFI should have brought Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, or Tiger Army along with them. But the Gallows? PLEASE. Their music is garbage, literally. And the lead singer's accent in his singing is very annoying also.

  7. That sucks. I was actually really impressed by them. I WAS one of the haters before seeing them. Now I know what they are about and the next time they come through town I will see them!

  8. Jeff, obviously my opinion is not "ah well." I said "ah well" because even though I didn't/don't support AFI bringing a band like the Gallows out on tour, I can't change that they did. I shouldn't be told to "take my opinion elsewhere" just because you think that it "sucks."But anyway, I wonder what AFI is going to do if the Gallows really are leaving. I'm assuming that they'd know at least a little bit ahead of time so they could find a replacement. This should be interesting if they really are leaving.

  9. Whatever the case, they put on a great show. So glad they were on the tour. I've always enjoyed their performances. I wish them a speedy recovery. I was really looking forward to seeing them in Austin. My hopes are still high that this rumor fades thou I truly doubt it because everyone has been getting sick lately. I mean I turn left I turn right sick people everywhere. Every single band I've seen so far this month, someone in the band is sick.

  10. They should bring on DEP. Holy fuck, you would be wishing that Gallows were back. Seriously though, if you don't like the Gallows, don't listen. Its simple. Nobody is forcing you to stand there and listen to their "sexist and their discrimitory nonsense and their ragging on AFI fans for no reason" Seriously. I'm almost certain AFI does not give a fuck if you don't like it and I know for a fact that the Gallows don't give a shit either. If you want to see AFI play a set that you like without any hardcore bands go to a festival show.

  11. I wonder if they will take the unseen again. I won't lie. I am not a huge fan of gallows, but they put on a great show. I think I may have had more fun during the gallows set than the unseen set, and I like the unseen. This is still only a rumor though.. Maybe they will finish off this leg. Who knows.

  13. They already brought out DEP. Who I like for the most part, actually, and saw with AFI twice. I'm not saying that I don't like hardcore bands and I'm not going to NOT see my favorite band just because I don't like the opener. I'm not expecting AFI to go out of their way to care if I like their opener. It's their tour, they can take out whoever they want. I just didn't like who they chose this time. It's obvious you like the band, I don't, that's that.I wonder if they'll just take on a new band at each show and then get someone permanent for the rest of the dates before the new year.

  14. Sometimes, things do work out for the best on my end. Rarely that is, though. But this guy that they got to replace him doesn't seem very exciting from his myspace page. I hope that doesn't dampen things too much.

  15. I don't like Gallows, just not my type of music, so this actually makes me somewhat happy.

  16. I agree with carries first comment cause when I saw them on Friday in NYC I didn't really enjoy them I mean they were okay but I wasn't very fond of their mosh pit the one that frank created. I mean once afi came on the mosh pits became more dangerous and I got real pissed of I felt like screaming in anger but besides that I gusse they were okay but still I wish this happend sooner.
