Davey: Green Day Tour Is Last of Crash Love Era

In between songs at AFI's performance Saturday at Lollapalooza (pictures here), Davey stated that the August tour with Green Day would be AFI's last tour on Crash Love. The last date of the tour is September 4 in Mountain View, CA.

The Crash Love tour lasted from October 2, 2009 until September 2, 2010. That is 11 full months, with over 100 shows (full list here). In comparison, the Decemberunderground touring era lasted from April 24, 2006 until October 6, 2007, nearly 18 months of touring. Sing The Sorrow lasted from March 11, 2003 until August 27, 2004 (17 months).

  2. Interesting question, Matty. I've added a paragraph comparing it to the two previous eras... before that the touring was less cyclical and more non-stop.

  8. I can see AFI's 9th album arriving at the mid/end of 2011 if the half a year they've shaved off touring meets a trouble free writing/recording experience.

Valentines day is fake, Pink Tank is real.
    11.11.11.

  9. Unlikely. BA tour probably goes Dec through Feb. Jade and Davey take a deserved break. Writing recording through the end of '11. I'd predict Feb '12 is the 9th drop.
