  2. The news with Dancing Through Sunday is pretty old. Was confirmed at least a month or two back.

  4. @drew and cxb I'd recommend staying about halfway through GD's set to see some of the old stuff, but that's just me.

@melting boy, the best way to report news to us is by email. Thanks!

  5. I wouldnt say that AFI are some avant-garde band, however their music and lyrics possess a certain complexity that goes over a lot of people's heads, many of whom I suspect desire the simplicity of GD

  6. Maybe you should stop being so uptight and get your money's worth. My friend came with me to the MA show for AFI and couldn't stand Green Day and now she loves them after seeing them live. Hate to say it because we're both DFers but they put on a much better show than AFI.

  7. I understand that Green Day's live show is very bombastic, but I have to say that I think the who execution is just a bit ridiculous. I mean, t-shirt cannons and mooning the audience? Really?

  8. Eh, I guess it just depends on what you're going there to see really. If you want them to just play their music and that's all then you'll be annoyed with the show. I thought it was fun how much they engaged the audience though, and I wish AFI did half of that much interaction with us.

  9. making your show a spectacle and making a show a good performance are not the same thing. green day need the bombast and constant fan-service to stay interesting. they've been playing the same enjoyable blend of simplistic pop-punk for a long long time and trust me, without the over-the-top pandering, that setlist would seem mercilessly long. AFI are more interested in giving a good show performance wise. they perfectly execute various gestures and show just the right amount of emotional investment in their music. i would say AFI is more of a theatre production while Green Day are more like an arena sporting event. apples and oranges, no comparison really.

  12. The gorilla, the pig...it's speculated to be Billie Joe from Green Day going out during AFI's set to be with them.
