Here's the last episode in our exclusive Answer That and Stay Fashionable Interview Series with all four members of AFI. This is the final part of Brandon's interview with Jade. They talk about recording, Jerry Finn, AFI's future with Interscope and Blaqk Audio.
About halfway through this part of the interview, there were some technical difficulties. Although no content was lost but you will notice that the last half of this section is a lower quality video and a few seconds where there is only audio and no video.
We would like to thank people over at Interscope for this great opportunity for all of us. All our greetings and appreciation for making this possible! <3
This video should stream on all mobile devices. If you are having difficulty please let us know.

Awesome interview Brandon! xD I gotta say though, go overtime all you want! Smith told me he'd be back in 15 minutes, turned out to be 27 and Davey, Adam and I were still talking away xD. Anyway, again, AWESOME!
ReplyDeletegreat job Brandon. Really enjoyed this interview.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say i'd like to hear Ok i Feel Better Now in acoustic. That would be nice to hear.
Finally the question I've been asking about Interscope was answered.
ReplyDeleteInteresting how they didn't want an acoustic song when they have had mellow songs in the past records (Morningstar, The LEaving Song and On The Arrow).
ReplyDeleteGlad about the answer regarding Interscope, hopefully they'll go to a smaller label now.
Whatever label it is, I hope I know a contact xD
ReplyDeleteTo me, the sound more attached to Luke Wood than Interscope as a whole. I could see them going off to a smaller label or something of the likes. Kind of sad to see the interview series over, but now the gears are changing and we'll all be getting into Blaqk Audio mode! c:
ReplyDeleteOk gonna totally n00b out here.
ReplyDeleteLet me begin by saying I know nothing of labels and how they work etc...
But, why would you guys want AFI to go to a smaller label? Doesn't a bigger label mean more money for the recording and more exposure and more advertising?
Again I don't know much about this but if someone could explain why a smaller label would be beneficial id appreciate it.
Artists usually actually make LESS money per unit on a major label. However, often times it equals out due to the sheer amount of units sold. In return for that, more people go to shows and buy merch, which unless the band is on a 360 contract, the label gets no cut of. So it has it's pros and cons. For a band that was at a time very popular, like AFI, a smaller label could work. Epitaph or Victory would be decent I think.
ReplyDeleteIt alters some bands creatively as while.
ReplyDeleteNo James not Victory.
Haha, you've told me Ruth. I think their management would get them the right contract if they did end up there. SAM is a good team, they'll watch out for the contract!
