During the show, the crowd got to choose between Nyquil and a cover of the Descendants' song "Bikeage." Nyquil was chosen, to the dismay of the band (read update). Darling I Want To Destroy You was soundchecked.
Update: According to one reader who was at the show "Davey was very frustrated by the fans reaction to them doing a cover song. He said 'well thanks, I guess, that's disappointing.' Then he looked over at Jade and said 'We're flattered, just disappointed.'"
Congrats to picking the original over the cover? Is that sarcasm? Cause I really would have liked to hear Bikeage.

ReplyDeleteI don't know man. I love AFI and have never seen Nyquil live and I like that song and everything, but it's not like I'm gonna get to see the Descendents anytime soon. Plus it's just cool that AFI has been pulling out so much weird different shit on this tour. It would've been neat to add another song to the list.I mean, whatever, I wasn't even there, but for the sake of discussion, I would've wanted to hear Bikeage. Haha.

ReplyDeleteI understand wanting to hear NyQuil that being their song and everything but the chance to see AFI do a Descendants song is pretty rare. Plus a band that doesn't even tour anymore ( other than ALL). I loved hearing NyQuil but would have loved hearing Bikeage. I would have liked to hear their rendition of it.
