Blaqk Audio at Spookfest 2010

Blaqk Audio played tonight at Spookfest in San Fransisco. According to the Blaqk Audio thread on the DF, they played three new songs: one called "This Is". It is rumored that they played "Fade To White", though as of yet there is no audio or video to support that claim. The third song was "Let's Be Honest", though, again, there isn't audio because of security.

Blaqk Audio Announces First Show: October 29th

The first show of the Bright Black Heaven era has been announced. Blaqk Audio will be playing Spookfest in San Fransico on October 29th, 2010. The event is being hosted by Live 105 and tickets are onsale now.

The line-up includes Underworld, DJ Shadow, MSTRKRFT, Moby, Steve Aoki, Blaqk Audio, Booka Shade, Wolfgang Gartner, Dada Life, The Limousines, Classixx, LA Riots, Felix Cartal, DJ Aaron Axelsen, Miles the DJ, DJ Omar, and Kid Lightning.

Davey: Green Day Tour Is Last of Crash Love Era

In between songs at AFI's performance Saturday at Lollapalooza (pictures here), Davey stated that the August tour with Green Day would be AFI's last tour on Crash Love. The last date of the tour is September 4 in Mountain View, CA.

The Crash Love tour lasted from October 2, 2009 until September 2, 2010. That is 11 full months, with over 100 shows (full list here). In comparison, the Decemberunderground touring era lasted from April 24, 2006 until October 6, 2007, nearly 18 months of touring. Sing The Sorrow lasted from March 11, 2003 until August 27, 2004 (17 months).

AFI played a 35-minute set last night in Buffalo, NY on the second date of their tour supporting Green Day. The only difference between last night's setlist and the August 3rd Camden, NJ setlist is that The Missing Frame was not played.

AFI Kicks Off Tour With Green Day Tuesday

Tomorrow AFI will embark upon a 17-date, month-long North American tour with Green Day, beginning in Camden, NJ. We will be providing setlists as usual, and we welcome you to send us pictures/videos of the shows, as well as reviews. Who here will be going to any of the shows?

Green Day Speaks About AFI In Billboard Interview

Green Day recently spoke about touring with AFI in an interview with Billboard.com. In the interview they said:

"We have always talked about playing gigs with AFI and it was just the matter of what was the right moment when we both have records out and touring at the same time."

RUMOR: Private Blaqk Audio Gig at Roxy in January

As the Crash Love era winds down, and as the Bright Black Heaven album cycle gets underway, we are going to shift our focus as well. We will continue to bring you coverage of all things AFI, and now we will also be doing the same with Blaqk Audio. We have added a link at the top of the page to our Blaqk Audio News Channel, which will show posts only about Blaqk Audio.

We've found a tweet that we urge you to take with a pound of salt, but is interesting nonetheless. It reads: "@I_Ruin_Dreams My manager at work is good friends with the owner of the roxy in Hollywood and says that Blaqk Audio will be doing a private gig in January!" AFI performed at The Roxy for the Crash Love record release show, and it was a private gig as well, so this is entirely plausible. The tweet has been sent to management for confirmation, so we'll know soon enough.

In other Blaqk Audio news, the duo's MySpace page is primed for an update. Jade is reportedly delegating work to the design team.
