Info on Hunter's new music project

After weeks of saying he's been practicing with a new band, now we know that Hunter's new band solo project is called Las Gatas Beach Club (gatas is the feminine for cats in Spanish). They currently have 2 songs on their SoundCloud page. According to their Facebook fan page, their yet untitled record is almost done.

EDIT: See Hunter's comment below for more info. LGBC is a solo project, not a full band. It is also NOT what Hunter recorded last November, what was recorded last year is still unknown.

Hunter Revenge made a song exclusively for the kids show Yo Gabba Gabba. The episode "Baby" with the song will premiere this Friday on Nick Jr. Here is the press release:

OFFICIAL: Crash Love Will NOT Have 3rd Single

Before the show in London off AFI’s current European tour, Alter The Press sat down with Hunter and conversed over the tour, creating set lists, playing albums in their entirety, Hunter’s various side projects, why there will not be a third single/video, and the upcoming Green Day tour. You can read the interview in its entirety here.

The most important of this interview is actually bad news. There will NOT be a third single for Crash Love, due to a lack of funds.

Hunter: “No, we are not being given the proper funds, unfortunately. I think it’s just an indication of the way things have gone in the business. TV doesn’t really play videos, so there are very few outlets for videos, and it makes sense not to waste hundreds and thousands on dollars on a video if it’s just going to be on the internet. “

The Force Merch Now Available

Exclusive merch for Hunter Burgan’s former band, The Force, is now available here through Sam Merch. Hunter was a member of The Force until the breakup in 1998, a year after he joined AFI to record and tour on Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes.

Hunter Interviewed on LiveDaily

Mike found an interview on LiveDaily.com with Hunter. They talked about going on tour, a little bit behind the album title and writing the album, and a bit about the BT winners.
A highlight:

"I think that's the challenge we face each time we set out to record," Burgan said. "We're so used to doing things a certain way and so we're just challenging ourselves to push the boundaries and do something that sounds new; we'll always be making fresh music. But I think that's our biggest challenge. Certainly, that's something I've learned from this whole process is that it's not always the easiest thing."

Blaqk Audio and Hunter Revenge News

I was reading through my December issue of Alternative Press and there is a side article about AFI side projects. There was some new information about Hunter and Hunter Revenge. Also some Blaqk Audio news that I was not aware of. (In case you missed it: the next Blaqk Audio album will be called Bright Black Heaven)

Highlights about Hunter:

-Hunter has written and recorded a song called "About Babies" for the Nickelodeon kids TV show 'Yo Gabba Gabba'

-Hunter is currently writing a book. The topics were not revealed but Hunter says it is part Fiction part Non-Fiction

Highlights about Blaqk Audio:

-They will wait till after Crash Love touring to release the next Blaqk Audio album

-They have recorded 18 new Blaqk Audio songs, but there will be 12 songs on the actual album

-There will be lots of experimenting with different electronic genres that Cexcells did not touch on ( i.e. IDM and Drum 'n' Bass)
