Audio for some of the songs which were only played live has not been released or recorded at shows, however audio does exist in a studio format for all songs even if it has not been released.

Last year we posted about Adam Carson offering some drums to Luke Janela for his new record. Janela has informed us that the album is complete and can be pre - ordered here. The album will be released on October 1, 2011.

The Reckless Kind, Adam's side project, have a new show coming up at Bottom Of The Hill in San Francisco September 9 with Otis Heat and Caldecott. Tickets are 10 bucks and the show is 21+. Your can buy tickets here.
A while ago we posted that Adam was recording drums with Luke Janela. Luke has now posted the first song featuring Adam, called "The Beautiful Truth" to his Bandcamp page! Go check it out, it's a great song.
Update: Luke sent us a Tweet saying that Adam is on four more songs on the record for a total of 5! Luke's album, "Tomorrow Was" will be released on August 1st!
The Reckless Kind will be playing a show July 8 at The Elbo Room in San Francisco opening for New Diplomat. The show starts at 10:00pm and is 8 bucks to get in.
We’ve been working with Jesse at Zafio Records and have the opportunity to give away 5 copies of the new This Is Berkeley Not West Bay white vinyl repressing! The compilation features Screw 32, Dead and Gone, Black Fork and of course, AFI.

We recently learned from Adam Carson himself that he is involved in a new band called The Reckless Kind. According to their Twitter account, they are a "A 5 piece, super heavy soul band from the San Francisco Bay Area", and from what we could gather, they were previously known as "Rattlesnake", though Adam wasn't a member of the band when they were called like that. They entered studio last month and they just finished recording their debut album. Check out more from The Reckless Kind at their website here
Their debut show will be at Elbo Room in San Francisco on 30/05/2011, the show will be 21+.

Luke Janela recently made a Facebook post about Adam being a guest drummer on his song Everybody Is Dreaming:
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be mixing Adam Carson's (of AFI) drums into my song "Everybody Is Dreaming" today. All I can say is that it's EPIC!!"

Luke made another post, confirming that Adam has worked on at least four songs for Luke's new album.
"So yes, [I've] been working with the crazy awesome Adam Carson. A few weeks ago we recorded four tracks for the new album. His intricacy of playing and the energy he brings = out of control. Right now I['m] mix[ing] them. [I] Will let you know as the album reaches completion."
In September's issue of Alternative Press magazine "The Art Of Drowning" was named one of the top 10 influential punk albums from 2000 to influence today's punk. The page has a very brief history of AFI and how their line up changes affected their sound, as well as a mini interview with Jade. A video and a few pictures have been posted of Adam and Davey joining Jane’s Addiction onstage during the Soundwave Tour in Perth, Australia on March 1.
On January 1 an interview with Adam was published in the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. Now, more from that interview has been posted HERE online. This part of the interview focuses more on the state of the music business. “It used to be OK for a band to go away for awhile. In fact, it used to be a good thing. When a band is played all over the radio, you don’t want to hear ‘em for awhile. Then when they have a new record, it makes it that much more powerful. But it seems like, these days, if you duck out for even one second, people are prepared to move on.”
In aniticipation of their upcoming show at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA on January 15, the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat ran a newspaper article about AFI. Adam was interviewed by X92.9 DJ Greg before yesterday's show in Calgary. There is a Part 1 and a Part 2. The interview is 9 minutes long, and Adam discusses the themes of Crash Love, the musical construction of Medicate, the fighting/massaging role of a drummer, the hypnotic aspect of drumming, and more.
While AFI was at MTV's Ulalume festival in October, they stopped by 98 Rock radio station in Baltimore, MD. For almost fifty minutes, they played some of their favorite music. You can click here to hear the entire show.

Rumors are swirling about whether this Twitter account is really Adam Carson's. We can now confirm with 99% certainty that it is indeed Adam. There are three people officially connected to the band who are following him: Hunter, Fritch (merch guy), and Mike Fasano (AFI's drum tech since Shut Your Mouth era).
Fritch has talked to Adam through Twitter. Fritch's account is confirmed legitimate based on Hunter's tweet to him. Adam joins Hunter and Jade, who are already on Twitter (@tranquilmammoth and @jadepuget). His latest tweet: "Houston, TX. Downtown is dead. Looks like a bus day for me."
