Boggan said he had listened to the completed Blaqk Audio album earlier that day, meaning that Bright Black Heaven is likely finalized and a release is imminent. Boggan also said that he was under the impression that Davey and Jade would be heading to New York after the BFD Festival, which was on June 5, to begin working on the next AFI album. It is unknown whether they will be primarily songwriting or already beginning to record.
Keep in mind that these are rumors, but seeing as these are the first whispers of the next AFI album cycle, we thought you all should know.
:D
ReplyDelete......
:D
I'm so happy
ReplyDeletehuzzah!
ReplyDeleteBut, there is HOPE for the next AFI album right? :D (AFI) was, is and shall remain FOREVER! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe problem with this site is speculation gets posted as news, when Blaqk Audio announces their new label that will be news, some kid who hears an album that months ago BA said was finished is not news. For all we know it could be over a year before Bright Black Heaven gets released
ReplyDelete'looking forward!
ReplyDeleteGreat find Jason! Thank you Flash!
ReplyDelete@Drew yes, he has. However last I heard they still didn't know which songs are going on it. It sounds like now the album is actually done, track listing and all. Speculation, but still.
@Beneaththeink we post a lot less speculation stories than other sites, for example: we didn't post saying AFI was dropped from Interscope when the contract was up. We told everyone what was going on. We pick which speculation to post by how possible it is. Some things are just ridiculous, we avoid those. Some are possible, which we post and clearly mark as rumors.
It isn't "some kid" who heard the album. It's DJ Boggan, who was on the road with Davey and Jade. He's as credible as any group that AFI or Blaqk Audio takes on tour.
ReplyDelete@Jason The 'kid' being referred to was the Tumblr user
ReplyDeleteAs for BA, I think that DJ Boggan could have heard the whole album without Davey and Jade being any closer to getting signed, since they do have the music in their possession at this point.
ReplyDeleteAs for AFI, I think we should have known that they were working on another AFI album already. Hunter twittered that he was working on tracks for AFI some time ago.
LOOK EVERYONE!!! Lets stay POSITIVE +++++ we ALL know that there WILL be an album coming out soon. It doesn't matter when it will be out, As long as it does...and I KNOW IT WILL FOR SURE :D and I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!!! ...I'm very THANKFUL for "AFINEWSHQ" and all time they take to keep us posted. They keep me looking forward to something everyday! ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for either records I just want to be able to see them live again! :)
ReplyDeleteOh for fuck's sake, some of you are insatiable. It's half the reason I contemplated not even mentioning this to Jason.
ReplyDeleteAs for the conversation with Boggan, I'm more than halfway certain that the words "to record" were used, but I honestly was exhausted as hell from dancing my ass off for 3+ hours, so my memory of the exact words are fuzzy. But I thought the murmur of going to work on AFI #9 was worth offering out just in case some people were interested. I sure was. I know it isn't hard news: it's a rumor I got out of the conversation I had after the show with Boggan (@ Sacramento btw, though it really doesn't make a difference). I never advertised it as anything else, nor did Jason. It's why I gave him full discretion in posting all, some, or none of what I offered in whatever way he felt most appropriate.
It's an unconfirmed rumor. I'm your unofficial secondary source. If you don't like it, move on and I'm sorry I wasted 2 minutes of your time.
Flash, we appreciate the info. Some people just can't take a nice bit of good info when they hear it. THOUGH speculation, it is promising. We all want a new AFI record and this gives a little something to look forward to. Its nice to hear the idea of a new AFI record looming in the air as I'm sure it is for other fans as well and you certainly wasted no ones time.
ReplyDeleteI'm still looking forward to 2012 as the new AFI record, I wasn't expecting to hear anything about it until maybe around Halloween actually. So this is good to hear :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it will be the two year anniversary for Crash Love at the end of September. Can't wait to hear the new BA, it really should have been released this last year. Once we get some concrete news about a label and release date, we should really try and spread the news with fan-based advertising.
ReplyDeleteI'm saying end of 2012 beginning 2013. If that, we all know how they say one thing and then it gets pushed back lol. Either way I've got some other bands holding my attention till #9.
ReplyDeleteGreat news though and I agree with Flash if you don't like it, move along.
Woot woot! New BA, new AFI! :D
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond the subject, but You know what would be so AWESOME?! -- If "AFI" would CELEBRATE their 20th anniversary with ALL of (us) FANS!! -- Holy Sh**!!!!! IMAGINE THAT!!!!! -----What do you guys think?? ---ANSWER THAT & STAY FASHIONABLE!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteJust hints at new AFI work are more than enough to keep me happy!
ReplyDeleteThe Blaqk Audio news is extremely great as well!
