According to Blaqk Audio's Facebook Page, a new song titled "Bon Voyeurs" has been played on the Sirius Satellite Radio channel Sirius BPM. Since "Bon Voyeurs" is getting radio airplay it is 99% sure to be a single, it appears to be the second for Bright Black Heaven, after "Ill Lit Ships". Nothing is confirmed yet, this is speculation.
Did anyone hear it? Let us know what you think! Thanks to Kate for the tip!UPDATE 7/28: The song was played at just after midnight. It's far more upbeat than Ill Lit Ships is. A stream of the song can be found on Youtube, but we will not be posting the link here.
According to station logs, the song has been in rotation since July 22.
So, who has Sirius radio and can rip it for us? :P
ReplyDeletewhy wasn't this announced?
ReplyDeleteThat's a problem, I tihnk Sirius radios have no way to connect to a computer... Not sure though.
ReplyDeleteguess it's safe to say Bon Voyeurs will be on BBH... is it?
ReplyDeleteNah, Sirius Radio can be listened to online but it costs money. Even with the free trial thing I think you have to give them a credit card number.
ReplyDeleteMatty, we didn't know about it beforehand. No one did, it seems. Yeah, it is probably a single since it's receiving radio airplay. I'm guessing there will be an album and an EP, and then b-sides on the singles. A few tracks will be left over still, haha.
ReplyDeleteI found a play list search for the channel it played on. It was played twice on the 26th. Once at 1PM and again at 1AM.
ReplyDeleteAlright, nice. Was that Eastern? Someone should listen in every time it hits 1am or pm.
ReplyDeleteI'm listening! I hope it gets played soon...
ReplyDeleteIf you can, please rip it for us if you hear it <3
ReplyDeleteYes please Mark that'd be amazing!
ReplyDeleteDYING NOW.
ReplyDeleteIll Lit Ships was playing on Radio Soundcheck, which specializes in playing songs that ARENT singles. Satellite radio is similar, they play a wide variety of music that isn't actually well known (unless you listen to Top 40). Interscope is just sending out some radio promos for the album.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed the new Blaqk Audio profile pic, the one with the keyboard fragments. It's very cool.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I didn't know they had a Facebook until now.
ReplyDeleteAnd guys REQUEST REQUEST REQUEST :D

yep that ^^^
ReplyDeleteKera and I are recording too :)
they just played it!!!!
ReplyDeletefucking amazing <3
It's really good!!
ReplyDelete+1 to Drew reminding OP that Ill Lit Ships is almost guaranteed to NOT be a single due to it being given radioplay on Soundcheck. Otherwise Cold Hands would be a CL single at that rate...I'll remain skeptical of this one being a single, as well. Unless I see something a bit more substantial from Interscope or BA or the PR co.
ReplyDeleteThis one is actually single worthy. Very catchy.
ReplyDeleteI'm unsure about Bon Voyeurs at the moment, I feel like it lacks depth and that the lyrics are pretty poor. Words like rapturous and alluring sound quite pretentious against the dance beat that is supporting them. I understand that in Sing the Sorrow Davey uses this type of language, but the music sounds emotionally charged so they compliment each other. Hopefully in time I may see some spark in it, but for the moment this seems like a bit of a dud to me.
ReplyDeleteBlaqk Audio hasn't really disappointed me, if the only thing I get is a high quality version of Ill Lit Ships when Bright Black Heaven is released I'd still be experiencing great ecstasy.
It's a decent song. But same goes for this song - I'll take any on CexCells instead.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI must say I don't really like this song. Every synth is stolen directly from a CexCells song which electronic bands do often but in this case doesn't work because they are like EXACTLY the same, ex. the Semiotic Love synth plays the same pattern, etc. Lyrics are a little whiney too.
The whole thing just sounds 'typical', I was hoping that The Ligature was an indication that they would go off of mainstream.
Anyone notice the distorted string part starting at 2:43 is the same chord progression as that little string easter egg of the last Beautiful Thieves chorus from the iTunes thing?
Hmm, I wonder if Jade used the same sample with different effects. I know nothing about BA/techno just fyi haha.
ReplyDeleteJuly 22nd??? I NEED to hear this - I can't wait now!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I should buy strobe lights, turn off all the lights in my basement, turn on the strobe lights, and have a dance party to this song. Who's with me? xD

ReplyDeletePeople who must-hear-NOW! ...
ReplyDeleteGoogle is your friend. You really ought to know this by now.
Beautiful song..
ReplyDeleteIts kind of annoying.....the chorus is probably the only good thing about the song.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the lyrics are kind of bland. Its just like "eh..." Its forgettable IMO.
