Download Center Up and Running

DarkFlame’s AFI Community has gotten an upgrade in the form of the Download Center. This members-only section of the site allows you to download AFI wallpapers, buddy icons, fan projects such as Alli and ixnay’s Complete AFI Set List/Tour Guide and my own Complete AFI Lyrical Anthology, and a spot where you can download 12 AFI live performances for free.

I hope to eventually bring this Download Center up to par with what AFI Series’s Download Spot used to be. I will be adding mountains of content in the coming months, so stay tuned.

AFI’s Nitro Music Taken Off iTunes

All of AFI’s music that was recorded with Nitro Records has been pulled off iTunes as of today. This is most likely because Nitro did not agree to the tiered pricing structure Apple introduced today for its iTunes Store.

Currently, the only AFI albums available on iTunes are Decemberunderground, Sing the Sorrow, I Heard A Voice, Carcinogen Crush (Single), and A Fire Inside EP. That EP was on Adeline Records, therefore it is still on the store.

Possible UK Tour Date

A new AFI tour date rumor has surfaced, and this one is also in the United Kingdom. The show will be in Plymouth at Plymouth Pavilions on October 27, 2009 at 7:30. As of now tickets do not seem to be on sale, but this post will be updated when further information is available. Again, this show has not been officially announced by the band or its PR company.

Click here for more details about this show.

First "Crash Love" Song Title Revealed

The first song title of AFI’s forthcoming album Crash Love has been revealed by one of the Begin Transmission winners. We are still awaiting official word from the band themselves, but until then, you may highlight the text below to see the title. I am presenting it this way so that those of you who would like to wait can avoid seeing the title.
Respect those who do not yet wish to know the title. Please do not directly state the the title in your comments.

Song Title:
I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Honest

UPDATE: We have learned from Davey in Ask AFI that one word of the title listed here is incorrect.

Update: We now know that the title is “I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here.”

Hunter Posts Video Response 4 of 7

On Saturday evening, Hunter gave us the fourth video in his series of responses to questions asked on his blog. In this new video, Hunter gives us several more bits of information. He says that AFI has been at their busiest this week, and that all of their attention has been on the record.
In response to the question “Are there any AFI tracks from before Decemberunderground or Sing the Sorrow that may see the light of day at some point?” Hunter says “The only tracks that we recorded during those sessions — or even before that — that have not been released are slated to be released on the EP when that is released, so those songs will get out there eventually.”
Beyond that, it’s just Hunter being Hunter as he talks about his spy attire, vegan burrito traps, how he learned piano, his first kiss, and more. Click here to view the video.

Davey Gives Initials to a "Crash Love" Title

In the Ask AFI section of the message boards, Davey answered a question about lyrics he may wish he hadn’t written. He strayed away from the question toward the end and began comparing his new lyrics to his old. At one point he compared “Three Seasons to Cereal Wars, or IATVHTBH (from Crash Love) to Three Reasons.”

Update: Davey has confirmed that this is the acronym for a song title on Crash Love. He also revealed that this is the song that the Begin Transmission winners sang on.

Raine’s Begin Transmission Video Released

Two weeks after Natacia’s “Day In The Life” video was released, AFI has given us Raine’s equivalent. Raine was the second winner, thus his video is the second one. The video was posted earlier this evening. In this new video, Raine helps Smith take over Hawaii. At the end, he abruptly leaves to go and get Mark in L.A. The song used for this video was “Affliction.”

Hunter Posts Video Response 3 of 7

In Hunter on April 1, 2009 at 11:21 am

Early Wednesday morning, Hunter gave us the third video in his series of video responses to questions asked on his blog. See here and here for the previous two responses.

In this new video, Hunter gives us several bits of information. He says AFI is “really hitting it hard in the studio right now, trying to get our record done.” He also told us that Don’t Change, Jack The Ripper, and On The Arrow were recorded after all of the songs from Decemberunderground were mixed. Beyond that, it’s just Hunter being Hunter as he discusses necessities for island life, vegan menus, and regular horses in fish tanks. Enjoy!
